READ FULL CHAPTER HERE   COORDINATOR:  AFOLABI JOSEPH OLAJIDE 1 Chronicles Chapter 1 Summary: Chapter Summaries Welcome to 1 Chronicles chapter 1 summary. Chapter 1 of the first book of chronicles began as a chronicle or genealogy list of the families of mankind. Quite naturally, it started with the families beginning with Adam and went onto Noah as the chronicler presented his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Japheth’s sons were listed, followed by the sons of Ham, and also Shem. Shem’s lineage is chronicled up to Abram who was Abraham. Abraham’s sons were listed with their offspring, beginning with Ishmael and the sons of Abraham’s concubine Keturah. 1 Chronicles Chapter 1 Summary The genealogy finally the son of the covenant, Isaac. Isaac had two sons whose sons (Esau and Jacob) were recorded beginning with Esau and all of Esau’s offspring. The chapter ended with the archives of the kings of Edom (Esau) who ruled before there was a king in Israel, as well as the ...

He exhorts both Solomon and the nation’s leaders to follow Moses’ law and to build the temple with aplomb. II. Photo David sets aside a superabundance of materials for his son Solomon: “Much iron for nails for the doors of the gates and for clasps did David lay aside, and so much copper it could not be weighed, and cedar logs without number — for the Sidonians and the Tyrians brought many cedar logs to David.” (vv. 3-4) III. Important Verses vv. 1-2, 5: David said, “Here will be the House of the LORD and here the altar of burnt offerings for Israel.” David gave orders to assemble the aliens living in the land of Israel, and assigned them to be hewers, to quarry and dress stones for building the House of God… For David thought, “My son Solomon is an untried youth, and the House to be built for the LORD is to be made exceedingly great ...

Just the same way our parents do to us while growing up The love God had for David did not stop him from chastising him Same goes to Moses ,God loved him so much but jus...

READ FULL CHAPTER   HERE COORDINATOR   : AFOLABI JOSEPH OLAJIDE Joab led out the armed forces… But David remained at Jerusalem : David should have been out at the battle but he remained behind.  What happened when David remained at Jerusalem was so well known that the Chronicler did not need to record it. In his leisure he saw a woman bathing, acting upon his feelings of lust, committed adultery with her making her pregnant, and conspired with Joab to murder her husband (Uriah, one of David’s mighty men) to cover up his crime. A lot happened between David stayed at Jerusalem and Joab defeated Rabbah . Beware of moments and hours of ease. It is in these that we most easily fall into the power of Satan.  If we cannot fill our days with our own matters, there is always plenty to be done for others… Watch and pray in days of vacation and ease, even more than at other times.”   “There is nothing more full of subtle danger in the life of any servant of God...

READ FULL CHAPTER  HERE COORDINATOR   : VALENTINE ISAAC We are reading from 1 Chronicles chapter 19  From this scripture, we can see that after the death of Nahash, Hanun's father, David decided to sympathize with him and sent some men to pay condolence to Hanun  But the princes of Ammon told Hanun that it was a plan from David to pay the land and overthrow him On hearing that, Hanun took hold of all David's Messengers and maltreated them shamefully. He did not stop there... He knew that David would be angry with him so he hired weapons of war and made affiliations with the Syrians to fight against David. When David heard of it, he sent Joab to battle and when Joab saw that they were surrounded both in front and behind, he split the Israel soldiers in two, and sent one part to Abishai to face the Syrians while he took the other soldiers with him to fight the Ammonites. One thing I noticed from the comment Joab made in vs 13 is total surrender to the will of Go...

READ FULL CHAPTER  HERE COORDINATOR   :  MICHAEL EKPENYONG This chapter is about God's covenant with David. When David was dwelling in his house, he felt distraught because the Arka of the Lord was in a tent, while he himself was in a beautiful cedar house. ... Nathan told him that he should do whatever he feels is right because the Lord God of Israel is with him. The Lord said that when David’s days are fulfilled, he will join his fathers. It will be David’s son who will build the Lord a house, and God will establish him a kingdom. David felt humbled before the Lord, and asked who he was to be able to receive such blessings. The question is are you humble to receive uncommon favour and help Please be humble especially in the things of GOD . Also can the work of our hand produce uncommon favour  Depending on what you sow ( Always sow good seed) word God has spoken shall be established forever, so that His name will be magnified and glorified. He thanked God fo...

READ FULL CHAPTER  HERE COORDINATOR:  AFOLABI JOSEPH OLAJIDE Verse eight begins by exhorting these recently returned people to give thanks, to call on God’s name, and to make known God’s deeds among the peoples. After going through what they have gone through the Chronicler reminds them of how King David gave thanks and called on God. The point for us to know is that when God has been good to you, you ought to tell somebody.  These people had been hurt and defeated but now they are brought back to Jerusalem and somebody ought to praise God for it. Verse nine continues with “sing, sing psalms unto God, talk of all God’s wondrous works. These are action words. Praising God is active whether singing loud voice or a quite praise.  But more so when we begin to talk about the wondrous works that God has done for us, praise just happens. Verses ten and eleven tell us to glory in God’s name, to rejoice, and to seek the LORD. In these first four verses I see a lot of g...

\ READ FULL CHAPTER  HERE COORDINATOR:  AFOLABI JOSEPH OLAJIDE Chapter 15 is about the Ark of the Covenant being brought to Jerusalem, in the City of David. David built places of residence for himself as well as an area where the Ark of God could stay. David pitched a tent just for the Ark of the Covenant, and he commanded that no one can carry the ark but the Levites. These were the people who God had chosen to carry the Ark and minister before Him. David gathered all the Israelites at Jerusalem for the Ark, after which he assembled the children of Aaron as well as all of the Levites who were to carry it. Zadok called many people, including Abiathar, who were the priests. For the Levites, he called Asaiah, Uriel, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, as well as Amminadab. They were the heads of the houses among the Levites for the Lord. He told them that they needed to sanctify themselves so that they are able to bring the ark of God to the place which has been prepared for it. ...

READ FULL CHAPTER  HERE COORDINATOR:  AFOLABI JOSEPH OLAJIDE And the Philistines came [against David], spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. And David inquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? will You deliver them into my hand? And the LORD said, Go up; I will deliver them into your hand. So they came to Baalperazim; and David smote them there. And David said, God hath broken in on my enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of the place Baalperazim ( 1 Chronicles 14:9-11 ). Now it is interesting to me how that David sought guidance from the Lord and asked direct questions and received direct answers. I think that it is important that we ask God direct questions. We seek the guidance of the Lord by asking direct questions. Too many times we have our plans all set, and then we say, "Now, God, please bless my plans." Rather than seeking the guidance of the Lord and asking direct questions. "Lord, ...
